Deck the trees with boughs of holly!

Oak Tree SAFE and Friends are celebrating national Tree Dressing day holding their sixth annual Tree Dressing event on Wednesday 3 December.

Everyone is welcome to come along to Oak Tree Primary School at 1pm and join in this free event. There will then be a short walk to Oak Tree Heath to celebrate the Tree Dressing.

Heathland

Young people from Oak Tree School and local volunteers will be making wild decorations made from natural materials found on and around the Heath.

There will be refreshments and nibbles available during the decoration making and while the tree is being dressed, there will be music, poetry and singing by young performers from Oak Tree Primary School.

Councillor Eddie Smith, Portfolio Holder for the Environment at Mansfield District Council, commented: "This annual event, as well as being a good way to get into the festive spirit is an ideal way to celebrate our trees and the environment."

"I would like to send my thanks to all of the volunteers who work hard all year round for organising the event and I would encourage anyone to come along and join in the fun."

To find out more about the event, please contact Barbara on 01623 638880 or call in at Barrowhill Community Like, near Oak Tree School.
