ASBO for prolific Town Centre drug user
Mansfield District Council has been successfully granted an ASBO against an anti social, prolific drug user.
Anthony Fidler (27), of Birch House, Vicars Court, Clipstone was made subject to an Anti-Social Behaviour Order by Mansfield Magistrates on 22 October after a series of threatening incidents involving drink and drugs in Mansfield Town Centre.

During the three month period between May and August this year, Fidler was observed taking drugs on six occasions. On one occasion he was caught on CCTV injecting his left arm at the rear of St John's Church.
Fidler had already been banned from Mansfield Library and the Four Seasons Centre after taking drugs in the toilets of both premises and being drunk on several occasions.
He had also been caught urinating against the wall of Iceland in the Rosemary Centre.
Under the terms of the Act, Fidler is banned from acting or threatening to act in a manner likely to cause harassment, alarm and distress to anyone in the District of Mansfield.
He is also banned from the following in Mansfield Town Centre:
- Entering all retail premises, public toilets, churches and church grounds and the public library.
- Being drunk and disorderly.
- Carrying or consuming alcohol from an open container in public.
- Urinating in public.
- Possessing or using controlled drugs.
- Being verbally abusive to any person not of the same household as himself and in particular officers and agents of Mansfield District Council, PSCO's, Police Officers and Security Staff.
Councillor Danny McCrossan, Portfolio Holder for Public Protection at Mansfield District Council, commented: "I am pleased that this Anti-Social Behaviour Order has been granted."
"This individual has undertaken a series of antisocial, threatening and intimidating acts in Mansfield Town Centre which could have placed members of the public in real danger."
"The granting of this ASBO is an excellent example of the partnership between Mansfield District Council, Town Centre Shops, Mansfield Library and Notts Police working together to rid the town of such nuisance individuals. I hope this sends out a clear message that such behaviour will not be tolerated."
