Finalist in the MJ Awards 2008
Mansfield District Council was a finalist in the 2008 MJ awards for our Skills for Life programme.
The MJ (formerly known as the Municipal Journal) is a national publication containing news for and about local authorities. The MJ hold awards each year recognising the quality of service offered by local authorities.
Unfortunately, Mansfield lost out to Warrington Borough Council's Contact Warrington scheme but Mansfield District Council was commended for implementing the Skills for Life programme among its employees.
This has enabled staff to seek job-specific training and qualifications. In turn, this has led to an improvement of the level of service offered to its users.
