Party in the Park awards Andy douze points!

Mansfield District Council is pleased to announce that Andy Abraham is to be the headline act at this year's Party in the Park event.

He may not have brought back the Eurovision crown from Belgrade but the dustman turned X Factor runner up is sure to be a big hit with the crowds in Titchfield Park.

Andy Abraham will be the headline act at this year's Party in the Park

The event, which is held on Saturday 2 August from 12noon-9pm, is hugely popular – more than four thousand people turned up last year to listen to Alexander O'Neal, admission is free and the District Council is expecting another filled-to-capacity crowd this year.

Andy is promising tracks from his new album Even If, which contains all original material, plus a few surprises!

Also performing at the event will be the all girl band Stonefoxx, who are currently supporting X Factor winner Shayne Ward on his Arena tour.

And to show Mansfield's Got Talent – local entertainers can get in on the act themselves – local music and dance acts of all ages and genres are being sought to perform at the event to help make it a fun day out for all the family.

To be in with a chance; please send a demo CD/DVD to Lisa Vincent, Mansfield Town Centre Partnership, Mansfield Town Hall, Market Place, Mansfield, Notts. NG18 1HX.

Councillor Phil Smith, Portfolio Holder for Corporate Issues at Mansfield District Council is enthusiastic about the event: "Party in the Park is the jewel in the crown of Mansfield's Summer in the Streets programme."

"After a record-breaking number of visitors last year; I am confident of an equally good, if not better, turn out at this year."

Stonefoxx will also be performing at the event

"With Andy Abraham, Stonefoxx and a variety of local acts; there really will be something for all the family to enjoy and, what's more, it won't cost a penny to go – what could be better?"

Summer in the Streets is a nine week programme of events organised by Mansfield District Council and Mansfield Town Centre Partnership. The festival is in its sixth year of bringing fun, colour and entertainment to the town centre and its surroundings.
