Come on over to our Business Place
If you're from Mansfield Woodhouse and have a fledgling firm or a brilliant business idea, there's a new 'place' to be. 'The Business Place - Park Road' is a striking new building providing office accommodation on the site of the rundown former Lord's Ground changing rooms off Park Road, Mansfield Woodhouse.
The new building offers ten offices and a workshop available to lease to local entrepreneurs to set up a new businesses or develop an existing operation.
Offices are available in various sizes suitable for between one and four people. Each unit provides small, high quality workspace with all the facilities that a new and developing business would need.
Units are available starting from a weekly rent of just £34 which includes business rates, all utility costs, telephone line rental, internet connection and car parking. Each office also has its own security facility.
The units will be let on monthly licence terms which allow for 'easy in, easy out' arrangements with the minimum of bureaucracy.
In addition to the office facilities, tenants will be able to get free support from professional business advisors. The project is designed to nurture and look after new and developing businesses by helping them to survive and grow.
It is hoped the units will attract local people from neighbourhood renewal areas who feel that they are ready to start up a new business venture or who may already be operating a business from home.
Coun Kate Allsop, Portfolio Holder for Regeneration at Mansfield District Council said: "Park Road will be the third business place opened in the Mansfield district in the last year. The concept behind them is to encourage more budding entrepreneurs to turn their business ideas into reality.
"We know that there are many people out there with great ideas or tiny operations they may be running from home that have the potential to make good, profitable, sustainable businesses. Centres like the Business Place – Park Road aim to unearth them, nurture them and help them on to bigger and better things."
The Business Place has been built with funds from a number of partners, including NRF (Neighbourhood Renewal Fund), LEGI (Local Enterprise Growth Initiative), ERDF (European Regional Development Fund) and the Alliance SSP (Sub-regional Strategic Partnership). The Urban Regeneration team at Mansfield District Council is leading the project.
Mansfield Woodhouse Community Development Group has been awarded the contract to manage the Business Unit on behalf of the council.
